Ingredients
1 sheet of puff pastry.
2 cups of pastry cream.
1 cup powdered sugar.
1 cup of milk cream.
1 teaspoon vanilla essence.
Fresh strawberries for decoration.
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 200°C. Spread the puff pastry on a baking sheet on parchment paper and prick the surface with a fork to prevent it from rising too much during baking. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Let cool.
While the puff pastry is cooling, prepare the pastry cream. In a bowl, whip the cream with the powdered sugar and vanilla essence until you obtain a smooth and firm cream.
Once the puff pastry is cold, cut it into three equal rectangles.
Assemble the cake by placing a layer of puff pastry, followed by a layer of pastry cream. Repeat this process until you have three layers of puff pastry and two layers of pastry cream.
Cover the top with powdered sugar and decorate with fresh strawberries.
Notes
You can add chopped nuts between the layers of cream to give it a crunchy touch. You can also substitute the strawberries for other seasonal fruits, such as raspberries or kiwis.
