Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry.

  • 2 cups of pastry cream.

  • 1 cup powdered sugar.

  • 1 cup of milk cream.

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence.

  • Fresh strawberries for decoration.

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C. Spread the puff pastry on a baking sheet on parchment paper and prick the surface with a fork to prevent it from rising too much during baking. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Let cool.
  • While the puff pastry is cooling, prepare the pastry cream. In a bowl, whip the cream with the powdered sugar and vanilla essence until you obtain a smooth and firm cream.
  • Once the puff pastry is cold, cut it into three equal rectangles.
  • Assemble the cake by placing a layer of puff pastry, followed by a layer of pastry cream. Repeat this process until you have three layers of puff pastry and two layers of pastry cream.
  • Cover the top with powdered sugar and decorate with fresh strawberries.

Notes

  • You can add chopped nuts between the layers of cream to give it a crunchy touch. You can also substitute the strawberries for other seasonal fruits, such as raspberries or kiwis.
